Hey, I’m Alex. I usually travel solo, mostly with a backpack, a beat-up camera, and a pretty flexible plan. I’ve always been drawn to the kind of travel that’s a little scrappy and a lot rewarding—finding places off the main path, connecting with locals, and stretching my budget as far as it’ll go.

Kona was one of the first places that really pulled me in. There’s something about the pace of life here, the people, the hidden trails and quiet beaches—it stuck with me. Since then, I’ve been back more times than I can count, and I’ve gotten to know it in a way that feels personal.

I’m all about making travel accessible. If there’s a way to do something cheaper (without it feeling cheap), I’ll find it. And if I stumble across a quiet lookout or a killer food truck, I’m probably already writing about it so someone else can enjoy it too.
